So the Australian Government "conveniently" forgot to inform the Word Heritage Committee that BP, Shell would be dredging the reef for coal seem gas.
The impacts of this will be catastrophic. In Gladstone Harbour, there were already, fish and turtles dying, their eyes clouded over and sores over their bodies. That is just the beginning, the disease.
After the Deep Horizon spill and the one in NZ last month (that they are only half way finished cleaning up), the outcome will indeed be tragic.
This issue I have had with this, is until recently, there has been very little media coverage. I actually found a lot more information about it from oil and gas company journals, than I did mainstream media.
Four Corners, last night, did an expose on what the hell has happened, hopefully this will propel more media to cover it and to demonstrate to the general public the need to get involved.
